The Project

This book chapter is an excerpt from a collaboration between the Drake Community Press and the Iowa Environmental Council called: Sacrifice State.

In this project, my Advanced Typography class worked together to create a cohesive style and layout for all book chapters. The grid system has a central flow line that content would hang off of or rise above.

Each student was assigned a chapter to design within the book. Above is my assigned chapter: Resistance.

The chapter consists of an introduction which is followed by interviews of Iowans and their experience with environmental issues that the state faces. Images were provided by interviewees which created unique challenges when creating layouts.
