As the design apprentice for Midwest Living I had the opportunity to work on the annual Gift Guide. The MWL Gift Guide highlights products made by small businesses all around the Midwest.
In the physical magazine, a 6 page spread was created featuring a variety of small businesses. For this spread, I designed the type treatment used for the main title. The type is Futura kerned out with a classic extrude effect applied to give it a 3D effect. I also did a little bit of amature modeling showing off a bag created by Pingree Detroit.

The 3D Futura type design was used in web applications on the Midwest Living website. Additionally, I helped to format individual drop-outs of products for visual consistency within the Gift Guide webpage.

Promotional videos and gifs were created for the Gift Guide and posted on Instagram as a sneak peak for the MWL audience and followers.
This promotional gif for the MWL gift guide was an amazing experience for me. I art directed this part of the shoot and with the guidance of both my art director and photographer, created this fun and interesting way to show off the different accessories from our story.
This gif was also made for gift guide promotion! I not only helped design the shot, but those are my hands doing an impressive job pouring if I do say so myself.
